The Mutin is a dinghy built in 1926 in Fécamp, inspired by the old Breton tuna boats. She is now the oldest ship in active service in the French Navy.

Initially intended to train naval officers in sailing manoeuvres, she has had an eventful history, particularly during the Second World War, when she was used by the Free French Forces on secret missions in Brittany and England.

Today, the Mutin is based in Brest and is used to train officers and sailors in the French Navy. She also takes part in major gatherings of traditional sailing ships such as Temps Fête in Douarnenez and Les Tonnerres de Brest, representing the sailing navy and its heritage.

This emblematic sailing ship combines tradition, training and historical memory.
