An adventure at sea for 200 young people thanks to the Communauté urbaine de Dunkerque
On Saturday afternoon, the DK Park, with its 5,000m² of outdoor leisure facilities, was buzzing with enthusiasm: In the presence of elected representatives and partners, 200 young people from the conurbation were brought together before setting sail at the beginning of July, bound for Le Havre, Dunkirk or even Aberdeen for these apprentice sailors who, over the space of several days, will experience a real human and maritime adventure.
An enriching and formative immersion
Whether beginners or enthusiasts, they will share life at sea, learning manoeuvres, crew spirit and respect for the marine environment.
Supervised by members of the crew, these young people will experience a powerful human adventure, made up of discoveries, challenges and sharing. It's a way of passing on a living maritime heritage, while giving them the opportunity to get away from it all and explore new horizons.
It's a great opportunity to bring our maritime identity to life and pass on to young people the strong values associated with the sea.
A collective project for young people
Les Voiles de Légende is part of a collective dynamic, supported by the Communauté urbaine de Dunkerque and nurtured by the commitment of many local players.
Many thanks to all our partners
The success of this great adventure would not be possible without the commitment of many partners. Institutions, companies, associations, teaching teams... their support is essential to offer these young people an unforgettable experience.
You can catch up with them during the Voiles de légende from 10 to 13 July.
🎉 Parade of the crews on Friday 11 July at 4pm, followed by the race prize-giving ceremony.
Fair winds to our 200 apprentice sailors!
