The Phoenix is a brig built by Hjorne and Jakobsen of Frederikshavn, Denmark in 1929 as a merchant sailing ship. She also bore the names Anna, Palmeto, Jørgen Peter, Karma, Skibladner, Adella and Gabriel.
Instead of taking the traditional trade routes, she was used as an evangelical mission schooner for 20 years until she was used for freight. The Phoenix gave up its Danish flag to come under the French flag in April 2024, and its home port, initially in Charleston, Cornwall, was relocated to Port-Haliguen. The boat, bought by two French shipowners, Yannick Berdellou and Yannick Arz, is jointly managed by the maritime heritage preservation association, Les Voiles Océan, and has been converted once again for a new activity, as a filming platform.
